I never expected to say this, but J’adore Intense is the first J’adore that actually excites me. The original has always felt like a pleasant but forgettable white floral — elegant, inoffensive, and a little anonymous. This new Intense version, created by Francis Kurkdjian and inspired by Dior’s muse Rihanna, finally gives the line some character: it reads like a honeyed amber floral pulled straight from the 1980s.

A Honeyed, Vintage Opening
The opening is the first surprise: a rich, juicy apricot note that’s instantly distinctive. It’s not the clean, soapy floral you might expect from J’adore — there’s real fruit here, full and mouthwatering.
From there, a bouquet of white florals takes over. Tuberose and jasmine sit front and center, creating that “standing inside a white flower arrangement” effect. Rose rounds things out, and ylang-ylang — the star of the show, to my nose — adds a spicy, almost exotic lift that keeps the whole thing from going flat.
