About Us

Why We Started FragranceBlog

Buying a fragrance online is a gamble. The bottle looks beautiful, the marketing sounds irresistible — but you can’t smell it through the screen. Most “reviews” you find are either rewritten press releases or five-star love letters written by people who clearly never sprayed the stuff.

We built FragranceBlog to be the resource we wished existed: an independent fragrance review site that tells you what a perfume actually smells like, how long it lasts, and whether it’s worth your money — before you buy.

What We Do

Every review on this site follows the same structure, so you can compare fragrances apples to apples:

 • The Scent, Described Honestly — top, heart, and base notes, how the fragrance develops over hours, not just the first spritz
 • Performance & Longevity — how long it actually lasts and how far the scent projects
 • Who It’s For (and Who Should Skip It) — no fragrance is universally loved, and we won’t pretend otherwise
 • Where to Buy at the Best Price — current pricing across major retailers, including discounts when we find them

We cover the full spectrum: designer bestsellers you’ll find at any department store, hard-to-find vintage classics, and niche releases worth the splurge.

How We Review

We are reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This is how the site stays free — but it also comes with rules we hold ourselves to:

 1. Rankings are never for sale. We recommend fragrances we believe in, whether or not an affiliate program exists for them. Some of our highest-rated picks earn us nothing.
 2. We research before we write. Our reviews draw on official brand documentation, long-term community feedback from fragrance enthusiasts, and aggregated wearer experiences — so our performance claims reflect how a fragrance behaves on real people, not just marketing copy.
 3. We tell you the downsides. Every fragrance has weaknesses. If a scent is overpriced, weak, or wildly overhyped, you’ll read it here.

Who We Are

FragranceBlog is an independent online publication run by a small team of fragrance enthusiasts. We’re not affiliated with, owned by, or endorsed by any perfume house, retailer, or beauty conglomerate. Our editorial opinions are our own.
